Astros Break the Slump at Wrigley
If your team is in a slump - all it usually takes is a trip to Wrigley Field to get you back on track. The Astros who have been slumping to start the season went into the Cubs opening day home game and beat them 5-3 on Monday afternoon. The awful Cubs bullpen sucked it up and lossed the game once again for the Cubbies. Howry took the loss while Lilly pitched decent again.
“The loss. That was the worst part,” Piniella said of his first game running the home dugout. “I mean, what are you going to do? We just lost it. We got beat. … Let’s hope we don’t have any more opening days this year, we’re 0-2 already.”
Duh - Usually the loss is the worst part…. Soriano seemed to enjoy his first home Cub game but went just 1-4. He had several yelling at him in the outfield.
“I was paying attention to the game, so it’s a little hard to understand what they say,” he said.
Ok Alfonso - we’ll take a little guess at what these awesome Cub fans are saying…
- We love you Alfonso and we don’t give a crap how well you do.
- We wish we had Cory Patterson back!
- Welcome to Wrigley Field Alfonso; want a beer?
- Hey Alfonso - Check out this hot chick up here.
- Will you please run out to the outfield as fast as you can and beat your chest and make all of us yell and scream like Sammy used to? Please!
What else you think these Cubbie faithful were yelling? The Cubs continue the misery this afternoon with a 1:20 start vs. the Astros again. Marquis vs. Sampson!
