They call him an expert?

Take a look at this nice little Cubbie love article from ESPN.  Jayson Stark just doesn’t get it does he.  He obviously doesn’t realize that a huge choke-job is right around the corner.

Maybe even today, in fact, because the Cubs — yes, friends, the Cubs — are taking on that look. That this-is-the-year kind of look.

You can read the entire article here but don’t get too excited yet Cub fans.

Zambrano Not Good

2006-04-17-zambrano.jpg5 years – 91.5 million dollars… And the guy is barely .500 with an over 4.00 ERA. WOW!!! Zambrano continued his losing ways losing his 4th in a row Wednesday night. The Cubs lost to the Brewers 6-1 allowing the BrewCrew to pull within 1.5 games of the Cubs. The Cardinals could not take advantage of the Cubs loss so they stay 2 out. If Big Z can’t win I’m afraid it’s gonna be a rough September for you Chub fans.

But look on the bright side. This is the most action you’ve had in September since….errrr… can’t remember!

Race Getting Close

The NL Central race is at it’s finest.  The Cubs are folding as the Brewers and Cardinals are clawing away at the Cubbies.  After Sunday’s 5-4 loss to the D-backs. The Brewers are just 1.5 out and the Cardinals are just 2 back.  Uh oh!

Creep…
Creep…
Creep…

When is Soriano coming back to save the day?

Lose to Dbacks

t1_lilly.jpgCubs lose 3-1 to the Dbacks!  This coming after a big Cardinal win and a Brewer loss.  They managed just 1 run and 7 hits in this contest.  They stay just a game ahead of the Brew-Crew and 3 ahead of the Redbirds.  The gap is closing!

Off Topic

I know this doesn’t really fit in right now since Crusty is no longer with the Cubs.  But a member sent this picture to us and for some reason we had not seen it before.  Thought we’d share it.
