Over a Century of Bad Chicago Cubs Baseball

All Star game thoughts

All Star Game, Carlos Marmol, Carrie Wood — By webmaster on Monday, July 14, 2008

How sad… 7 Chubs on the All-Star team.  This whole system is a joke.  Fukudummy is no better than an average outfielder.  Look at his stats, comparable to Skip Schumaker.  Sad!  But we all know, it’s a popularity contest and everyone loves the lovable losers.  Soriano voted as starting outfielder? Yikes! And then add insult to injury, Carrie Wood goes down with some injury or tightness or whatever - and who do they choose?  CARLOS FREAKIN MARMOL.  You have to be kidding right?  This guy has been horrible as of late.  Anyone else watching the same baseball I am?  Oh well, this year is just setting up to be one of the biggest dissappointments in Cub history!

May I suggest the Scrub of the Week be Bud Selig and the MLB?

becoming the scrub of the week would be like winning a darwin award. what a proud moment in one’s life. most people would rather get kicked in the groin with a very wide shoe.

I actually read some guy say on the Scubby MLB board that the sheep (my word, not his) were exceptionally stupid to vote Fuku into the ASG. Couldn’t believe he’s a Scub fan. He made too much sense. Anyway, that’s what the sheep do. They don’t have a clue as to who’s having a great year. They just pointed their little cursors to any Scubby name in front of their eyes. Fuku deserves to be an all star about as much as I do.

Web, it’s the players fault Marmol is going. He had the highest number of votes for relief pitchers. I’d like to know when this took place. 1 month ago? He’s lost it. I wish he would just stay home and rest.
And to those who think Fukudome got in from Cub fan votes, think about the 127 million japanese with computers. If he signed with San Diego, he’d probably still be an all-star.

The All Star game is like those purebred dog shows on TV. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz. Back in the 70s when we were kids it was really cool with people like Johnny Bench and Carl Yaz and now its all about revenues.

If the Japanese are responsible for the balloting, why weren’t there more Japanese players voted in? Besides, the Japanese have no more knowledge of MLB baseball than the sheep.

The sheep voted for Scubbies-over and over and over again. I know it, and you know it.

The All-Star game is a joke. I agree with Soxfan, the Sox will have home field advantage.

I laughed so hard when I heard Marmol was in, almost pee’d myself. Good times…..

Cardfan, are you japanese and living in Japan? If not, you have no clue what their baseball knowledge is. Fukudome was a recent MVP and a popular star in their league. Did you see that number? 127 MILLION! Take a small portion of 127 MILLION and mulitply it by 25. No way he gets in without Japan’s votes.
If your comment was true, then why wasnt Theriot, Lee, Ramirez and Derosa voted in? It because they did not get the support from Japan. Add Pie to that list. He was on the ballot too.

July 15, 2008 @ 2:42 pm

I said nothing about the Japanese baseball knowledge. I said they no as little as the sheep about MLB baseball.

Are you honestly trying to say that the sheep only voted 25 times each? Yeah, sure that’s what happened. That’s why the sheep were exhorting one another to vote over and over.

Either way, Fuku does not deserve to be an all star.

Oh sweet Mary, leave it to a sheep to say the biggest non-all star would have “made the play”. You sheeple never stop. Give me a break. Fuku did not deserve to be an all star. Period.

Powerful offensive display by the Losers “all stars” last night.

It was satire Cardfan, but a decent throw gets Morneau by 5 feet. Hart’s throw from medium right bounced twice!

Two things:

1. I believe OK1290 meant sarcasm, not satire. Just an observation.

2. Yes, Joe Buck DID suck ass last night, but what else is new?

Well, the cubs team record 7 all stars? din’t help the Nationals LOL! That only means the cubs won’t have home field advantage for a world series they won’t even make in the first place!

Go Go White Sox and whoever plays the cubs (flubs)!
THAT”S RIGHT! I’M BACK!

CUBSSUCK is right in his comments about the ASGs of yesterday vs. those of today. When I was a kid, baseball had real stars, not overpaid primadonnas with the exception of some of course, Jermaine Dye comes to mind. Longoria who won the balloting over him didn’t do JACK CRAP for the American League. I’m willing to say J.D. would have had at least 2 hits and 1 RBI!

In regard to the picture, that just shows that making your kid a cubs fan is committing child abuse!

“Well, the cubs team record 7 all stars? din’t help the Nationals LOL!”
Let’s see, 2 went and were not going to play. Zambrano didn’t give up a run and picked off a ruuner.
Dempster only struck out the side. Quentin had a couple of chances to be the hero. He struck out against Marmol. Who’s teams players didn’t do much?
Oh, I forgot about Crede. Did he even play? Must not have because I’m sure he would have homered a couple of times.
“Longoria who won the balloting over him (Dye) didn’t do JACK CRAP for the American League” He only was 1-4 but I guess you missed his 2 out double to tie the game in the 8th. I actually voted for Dye, both times, now I wish he went instead of Longoria.

WELL WELL! If it isn’t my old friend OKimadelusionalidiot! Long time no see! I figured my comments would bring some cute responses from at least 1 misguided small bears follower LOL! Thanks for not disappointing me!
First of all, the Nationals still LOST the game! DUH! It’s obvious cub fans still don’t get that the object of the game of baseball is to have the most runs at the end of the game!
Furthermore, is it just ciincidence that Zamwhacko, Dumpster and Marmolade only played 1 inning each? Most likely to PREVENT the cub players from blowing it fot the NL. The NL was on damage control, especially with Zambrano. Once he did get knocked around (if he’d stayed in longer), Hurdle and loulou didn’t want him punching out another cooler or doing something else to make a “rhymes with class” of himself on national television!

Comment by soxfanforever

July 17, 2008 @ 9:41 pm

Moreover, despite your little cubby stars 1 inning efforts, the NL STILL LOST! As i said before, that only means the flubs won’t have home field advantage for a World Series they won’t make anyway! LOL!
Lastly, GEE THANKS for your 2 votes for J.D.! That reaaly offset the millions of votes Longoria got from other cub fans. That’s okay! When’s the last time the cubs had a World Series MVP?

Comment by soxfanforever

July 17, 2008 @ 10:55 pm

LOL! I suppose I should capitalize “I”! I love to dispel the fallacy that Sox fans are illiterate. Of course, Chicago23, a cub fan himself, admitted that overall Sox fans are more knowledgeable about baseball than cub fans.

Why did Marmol and Dempster pitch only 1 inning Mr. Soxwhoknowseverythingaboutbaseball? Marmol is usually a 1 inning pitcher and Dempster pitched on Sunday. No home field advantage hurts, but I’m pretty sure it won’t hinder the Sox. They can all come over to your house to watch the games. Goodnight, don’t have bad dreams about scary tigers biting your ass.

Comment by soxfanforever

July 18, 2008 @ 1:25 am

LOL! Well maybe not EVERYTHING about baseball bt more than most cub fans. Good thing Marmol only pitches 1 inning or he would have given up the game winner for sure! No, I’m not worried about the tigers, the twins, maybe as they’re playing great ball. Talk about nightmares? LOL! What about the nightmares you cub fans have? From the goat to Steve Garvey to Steve Bartman!

No comment about the Scubby offense in the game from OK1290. Typical. If it’s not good, the sheep just ignore it.

IF the Losers get into postseason, do you think Crazy Carlos and Dumpster will get away with pitching only one inning?
