So we’ve already witnessed a number of Spring Training injuries on the Cubs roster.  The two best are:

• Alfonso Soriano breaks his finger and is out a while.  This could hurt.  Alfonso has never been real “tough” and he doesn’t like to play through pain.  Could be a long year Cub fans.
• Jose Ascanio got jacked up in the face during a robbery attempt.
• Mark Derosa having heart issues.  We wish Mark all the best.  Even we wouldn’t joke about a serious matter like this.
• And the best of all - Felix Pie has been out for a few games due to a twisted testicle.  How in the world do you get a twisted testicle?  And how bad would that hurt? I never want to find out.

We won’t even say much about this as it’s too easy of a target. But did you all know that Aramis is into cockfighting? He won’t comment too much on the issue:

“I’m not going to talk about that. That’s personal, that’s a different culture down there. I’m from [the] Dominican, so let’s talk about baseball,” he said.

Yeah it must be Aramis. You better focus a little more on baseball and a little less on that cockfighting.

Such a crime for this good lookin actress (Alyssa Milano) to subject herself to this hat.

Well, Ryan Dempster started the 2008 season off with a bang. Check this out Cub Haters:

“I think we’re going to win the World Series, I really do,” Dempster said on the first day pitcher and catchers reported to Fitch Park. “I wouldn’t come here and worked as hard as I did, and everyone worked as hard as they did, to not believe that. I think it’s funny when people make predictions or they say things and people are like, ‘Oh, how can you say that?’

“You believe it. You really do. Enough of all the b.s., and the curse this, the curse that, the goat, the black cat, or the 100 years (without a championship). … Whatever it is, we’re a better team than we were last year, I truly believe. And last year we made it to the playoffs, and it was a battle to make it, from where we came from, to have a rough April and be 10 (games) down and kind of grind our way to first place. I just feel like our chances are better.”

Seriously, don’t you remember Carlos Dumbrano last year making these same stupid remarks? Just play baseball and quit talking. It’s been 100 freakin years. Just because you spend a lot of money doesn’t mean your franchise is going to win the world series. It’s gonna be a fun year. You all catch wind that the Cubs signed pitcher, Shingo Takatsu earlier this month?  Uh oh.  Look out. Maybe he is going to be Fukudome’s mentor or something.  Even Cub fans agree that this guy is a minor leaguer at best.  Yuck!
