Pulling a Cub

100 Years of Suckiness, Cubs Suck Facts — By webmaster on Thursday, September 25, 2008

Pulling a Cub- v.; adj., pul ling a c u b-

1. To say something stupid or act in a foolish way, much like the Chicago Cub’s fanbase.
2. To keep believing even when your favorite sporting team sucks.
3. To lose an easy game or choke with a big lead.
4. To win an easy division and brag about when your counterparts are winning a much more difficult division.

Thanks to a gracious Cub hater for sending this one in.

“4. To win an easy division and brag about when your counterparts are winning a much more difficult division.”

There you AL Central fans go again, putting down the NL Central. May I remind you that the last 3 of 4 NL Champions have come from the Central division? Might I also remind you that the NL Central division 2nd place team has a half game lead over the AL Central division leader?

Just askin…

usually the NL Central has at least 2 good teams, but this year, the division was a joke. Usually the Cards or the Brewers can kick some ass, but neither could pull one off this year. But cmon the Reds? Pirates? Astros? hahahahahahahaha

Let’s see, there is a BIG difference between LEADING your division and WINNING your division. Also, you must be talking about the Angels and the easy division they are in.
3. To lose an easy game or choke with a big lead.
The White Sox are about to “pull a Cub”!

to Cardsfan:

sorry if it sounded like I put your team down, just as Ive said before, you and the Brewers had a bad year, I really thought for a while you two would duke it out for the top spot, but I have no idea what happened, but other than your two teams the rest of the division is shit, the Cards are my second favorite team behind my Sox, then prolly Boston and Milwaukee, so dont think I dont respect your team, but the NL central is still a bad division, and those two teams are the only ones who make it tough, the cubs, reds, stros, and pirates are pretty awful (stros I give some credit to, but not a ton) but anyone who plays the chubs is a team im rooting for

I wouldn’t say that the NL Central is an easy division, but according to the RPI rankings on ESPN, the Cubs haven’t had too tough a schedule, as they’re ranked 19th as far as “Strength of Schedule” (SOS) ratings, which is one of the lowest of all contending teams.

But you gotta give the Cards a shitload of credit for hanging in there for most of the season despite injuries and bullpen issues. Gawddamn, if it weren’t for the Cards’ bullpen the Boystown Bombers would be left fighting for a wildcard spot.

But it is what it is…

“Usually the Cards or the Brewers can kick some ass”
I just thought about this. The last time the Brewers kicked anyone’s one’s ass, they were in the American League. (1982 AL champs) Maybe they used to kick the White Sox’s ass, I don’t know.

No offense taken, fellers. I’m well aware that the Cards had a tough season, though it was much better than okeydokey or the rest of the sheep would give them credit for.

Thing is, until the last couple of years the Cards, Brewers, and Stros have all been good teams. With their downtrend lately, it’s left the door open for the Losers. With the Losers taking the division two years straight, it’s no wonder you all laugh at the Central.

Hopefully you all can laugh again this postseason as the Losers revisit last postseason.

Did I mention that I hate sheep?

1) the lost to the St. Louis Cardinals
2) they were in the AL East
3) at least the Brewers have been to the World Series in the last 50 years

Let me try this one last time. You wrote this, not me.
“Usually the Cards or the Brewers can kick some ass”
The last time the Brewers made it to the playoffs was in 1982. How much ass kicking have they done since? Then you write, “they were in the AL East”, so they didnt play the White Sox?
“at least the Brewers have been to the World Series in the last 50 years”. So what you are saying, just getting there is good enough? That makes them better than the Cubs?

Why yes, yes it does.

even so, its been 100 years since your “team” won it, and 63 since they have even been there

note: the Brew-crew has also only been in the league since 1969, so 1 WS appearance in 39 years is pretty good, unlike your chubs who have been around since 1876 and only won 2, and been to 11 in 132 years.

I wish the Suntimes would let Marioti write one more article about the “Blizzard”. I’d love to see Ozzie get pissed off. He can pose with his hands around his throat again. (choke, choke, gag, gag)

Hey Soxdopeforever, the Tigers didn’t bite the Sox ass, but those pesky little piranha’s sure did!

LOL, I was feeling kinda bad until I started reading OKI and Cubsfan’s comments.

It’s actually kinda funny having Cubs fans make fun of OTHER teams for choking. Kinda like Bush calling someone else a dumb ass, it’s really hard to take seriously.

Repeat what I said above.
Maybe the Sox can see if Wilbur Wood or Blackjack can pitch tomorrow. Can the Sox really lose again tomorrow? I kind of doubt the Twins will get swept at home.

One more thing to diarrhea mouth and all her fellow delusional flub fan idiots:

The White Sox were without their starting 3rd Baseman Joe Crede, their American League Home Run leader Carlos Quentin, and they were down to a 3 man pitching rotation, yet they STILL win their division! I call that RESULTS! WITHOUT EXCUSES!
I truly DOUBT that the cubs would win if they were without 2 of their regular starters and had only 3 pitchers. The flubbie fans would be making NOTHING but excuses! Again okimadelusionalidiot and her fellow flub fans are the pot calling the kettle black!

To SOX FAN:

I stand corrected, friend. You’re right! It was a 4man rotation. However, we STILL won the division! To okimadelusionalidiot: Again TAKE THAT, BITCH!No tigers or pirahnas biting us LOL! The thing is the Sox didn’t pull a cub because THE WHITE SOX ARE NOT THE cubs! Again, Soxfan friend, the Sox get results while the cubs make excuses. The ‘69 cubs still have the dubious distinction of being Chicago’s biggest choke baseball team!

RESULTS (SOX), NOT EXCUSES (cubs)!

No problem man, just didn’t want to give okishit a chance to rip ya one there. We won without Contreras, Quentin, Crede, Thome and Konkero in a slump, 2 young pitchers, and no bullpen. Without all our key players we STILL made the playoffs. The chubs fans would have a complete roster, no injuries, etc. and STILL lose, and then they’d make excuses.
