I asked today what the chubs fans excuse is gonna be this year, I asked, what is it gonna be? a curse? a goat? a fan? something someone said? a bad call? the field was wet? corked bats? voodoo?

the scrubs fans excuse: next year

Where are all the sheep? If the Scubs had WON the first two games, WE would have still shown up here to read all of their crap.

I know you’re out there, okeydokey. Come on in from the cold. Take your lumps. Anyway, they have 3 more tries at this. Well, they have 3 tries if they win the first and second anyway. Think they will? Tell us. We’ll be here waiting.

my fucking sox are sucking right now, didnt help that the ump couldn’t call for shit in the top of the 8th

but then the outfield all stood there and let the fucking ball DROP!

  6. RebelSox
    #6

That ump is worth crap. But the Sox had their opportunities. What’s with that gay dome they play in? Doesn’t even have a bullpen. Whatever, we’ll have to show them how we play outside!!!

I heard on AM radio that if the Scrubs don’t win the World Series this year, some fans might be defecting over to the South Side next season.

Fine, but if they bring their douchebag yuppie culture to US Cellular, then we don’t want them. So they can just stay home or return to getting jacked for their money in the North Side for another 100 years.

  8. SOX FAN
    #8

Yeah, we don’t want the stuck up sheep on our side. But at least maybe them leaving the scrubs would let them take the chubs out of chicago.

And wtf was with that ump?? 3 batters struck out because of bad calls waaaaaaaay outside the strike zone. We should’ve done more and played better defense in the 8th, but if those 3 would’ve had fair calling they could’ve all reached base and had maybe 2 on, 1 out, with Dye coming up.

Well, my Brewers are sucking right now, and I’m very unhappy with them, but at least it’s a silver lining to see the Flubs choking again! It’s hilarious! They were all proclaiming themselves World Champions a few days ago, but now they’re all ready to jump off Sears Tower! There’s not a more entertaining group of fans than those Sheep! Go Brewers now, we’ve gotta beat those Phils today at home! Go Dodgers!

It’s quarter to 2am, and I’m still laughing.

Those Cubs fans and all their belligerence, trash talking, arrogance and violence… all for nothing. Congratulations to the Cubs and all their loyal sheep, you’re the biggest losers in the history of sports, and possibly mankind.

    Ouch.

    Fellow cub haters:

I wanted to wait ’til the Dodgers finished them off to start posting. Was this fun or what?!

The cubbie fans aren’t struttin’ or talkin’ so big now, HUH?!

  21. soxfanforever
    #21

Each and every game was so enjoyable.
Game 1: James Loney hitting the grand slam and shutting up the flub fans quickly!
Game 2: The Dodgers thumping the cubs and making wraggey field look like the world’s largest morgue!
Game 3: The Dodgers closing the deal and now all the cubbie fans are bawling their eyes out!!!!!

I was just wondering: where’s that loudmouth cub fan, ok1290, now. What’s the matter? Goat got your tongue? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. soxfanforever
    #22

One more thing: My pick for this year’s “Steve Garvey” has to go to James Loney.
Game 1: He hits the Grand Slam against the flubs.
Game 2: He gets the hit which opens the floodgates for the Dodgers” runs
Game 3: He gets the 2 run double.

    Thank you, James Loney.
    Thank you Dodgers!

    #23

    OH MY GOD!!!

This is almost as good as the Cards winning it all in ’06. I don’t know which sheep I want to see first. Too freakin’ funny.

Well, we DID tell them this in early April, didn’t we?

    GO BREWERS!!
    GO SOX!!

    That We Did!

    Actually, a few more things.
Webmaster, besides my picking Loney as this year’s Steve Garvey, LMAO! YES! The Loney puffs picture is hilarious. One of the best ones ever posted!

And how about that sure-handed cub infield? LMAO! All 4 infielders make an error?!

Someone should ask Mark Cuban: Are you sure you want to buy the cubs? At least the Mavericks have a chance of winning a title!

A little something from the Cubune. Note the guy’s quote about 161 games. Says it all and why we call them sheep. He doesn’t even know there are 162 games in a season, knows the team sucks, but yet will follow them faithfully to the slaughterhouse again next year.

    “1:09 AM CDT, October 5, 2008

Cubs fan Dana Murphy grabbed her chest in pain.

“It hurts here,” she said Saturday night at the Logan Bar & Grill in Logan Square.

“It hurts my heart so much.”

Murphy was experiencing not a heart attack, but heartbreak, as the 2008 Cubs season died on the table. And she was not alone: bars and living rooms across Chicagoland turned into trauma centers as the team collapsed, and no amount of yelling at the television—nor pleas nor prayers—made any noticeable difference.

“At the very least they could’ve been nail-biters,” Ann Duff said. “This is a joke.”

It was a joke where the punch line—and the laughter—occurred 1,800 miles away.

“It’s like they don’t really care,” Scott Kirkpatrick of Chicago.

That perception of player indifference seemed to anger fans the most Saturday night. Few mentioned Bartman, black cats or 100-year droughts.

Instead the aggrieved cited the squad’s regular-season strength and the fact that the Cubs had the best National League record going into the playoffs.

“I feel betrayed; like the first 161 games didn’t mean diddly squat,” said Bob Richter of Lake in the Hills. “And the worst part of it is I’ll be watching them in Arizona come March and will be at that old North Side ballyard many times throughout next season.

“Cub fandom: It’s a disease and there is no cure.”

At the Billy Goat Tavern on lower Michigan Avenue, a location as intertwined to Cubs’ futility as any, the few dozen patrons scattered around the bar had grown quiet enough by the late innings that there was little noise other than the play-by-play and the sizzle of the bar’s grill.

There at the Goat, as it has been in so many decades past, patrons blamed a bearded bovid.

“How can we not be cursed?” Jeff Grapenthien said.

“We were the best team in the league all year, and then we turn into the Triple-A Pirates.”

  26. RebelSox

That’s hilarious. Maybe they shouldn’t be so arrogant next time.

Will they never learn that it doesn’t matter what you did in the regular season once the playoffs begin?!?!?!

  29. RebelSox
    #29

    They’ll never learn.

Look, after every regular season win against some weak ass team, flash bulbs go off like they’ve won the world series. And when they lose 3 in a row in the regular season, the fans say their season is over. And when they went 0-1 in the playoffs, the fans have given up and start crying like bitches.

Those are the types of fans they are.

  30. cubswillchoke
    #30

    ^^^ this. dead on.

  31. soxfanforever
    #31

    They’ll never learn!
Case in point: during the second game at Wraggyass Field, some of those fans looked like they were 80 to 90 years old. Why do these people do that to themselves? Oh well, I guess some people like being gluttons for punishment; some people like being miserable all their lives.

I agree in regard to some cub fans becoming Sox fans. I too, don’t want themm bringing that douchebag yuppie culture to our side. I had a cub fan last night tell me, “I hope you win tomorrow, Go White Sox.” I wanted to tellher that is the most intelligent thing I”ve ever heard you say! LOL!

they’re actually blaming the playoff system on the cubs being swept in two straight division series. this is getting tiresome.

  34. cardsfan
    #34

Well it’s always about SOMETHING. It’s never because the Scubs simply roll over and play dead. I got a kick out of the sheep discussing how bad TBS was in covering the series. Said they were slanted against the Scubs. ???????? Even if that had been true, in what way did that have a hand in the Losers imploding?

Anyway, now I get to once again pull out my “The Cubs Aren’t Cursed. They Just Suck” shirt.

Regarding the guy who “doesn’t know” there are 162 games in a season: The Cubs only played 161 games during this year’s regular season due to a game with Houston not being rescheduled. Their regular season record was 97-64. For as much as you guys seem to be obsessed with the Cubs, I’m surprised none of you realized that.

    161 games… 162 games… whatever.

Let’s not “Dodge” the real number that counts here: 100 years.

That’s an entire century of embarrassing the City of Chicago, and the sport of baseball, with the existence of the Chicago Cubs and their arrogant sheep fans.

Here’s an interesting fact (BY THE WAY, THE WHITE SOX WON TODAY!!! YAAAYYYY!! GO WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Ozzie Guillen’s postseason record as White Sox manager: 12 wins, 2 losses.

Lou Piniella’s postseason record as cubs manager:
    0 wins, 6losses!

and piniella’s supposed to be “the better manager?! LOL!

  42. cardsfan
    #42

The sheep just do not get it. I don’t care if it was only 161 games for the Scubbies. It was posted to bash on the Scubs and their fans, and it worked! One little sheep peeked his head out to correct me. Of course, it was most likely a hit and run, but he was here anyway. Shows me they’re paying attention between their sobs and suicidal thoughts.

And no sheep boy, just for the record I admit that I WASN’T aware that the Losers only played 161 games. I don’t pay that much attention to them. There, does my admission make you feel better? Will it keep you warm in the long cold off season you’re facing?

Anyway, there are only 3 games that mean anything, and that’s the last 3. You know, as in the 3 game SWEEP in postseason. Those 3 I AM aware of.

    LOL

Sox went down fighting hard against possibly the best team in baseball… ‘atta way to keep grinding it out all season long!!!

hmmm… Cubs lose Sox fans have a lot to say…Sox lose and WHAT nothing to say. HAHA, for a site to talk so much crap your team really SUCKED. Looks like we won’t be the only team ‘waiting till next year.’ I don’t know whats worse the Cubs blowing it or Ozzie’s attempt at English. I can’t believe someone would go to so much trouble to make a site about how much they hate a team. HATE like that sounds a lot more like JEALOUSY. GO RAYS!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

You’re just here in vain because your precious Cubs were expected to win the World Series and CHOKED!!!

    Your team got RAPED!!!

White Sox still achieved more in the post season. Hell, the White Sox STILL achieved more in the last CENTURY!!!!

White Sox – 3 years since last World Series.
Cardinals – 2 years since last World Series.

Cubs – 100 years of being the biggest embarrassment of the City of Chicago, and of all of sports.

  47. cardsfan

Jealousy? Why would anyone who pulls for any other team than the Losers be jealous of a team whose history is one of pure mediocrity? If memory serves, both my team and the Sox fans team have actually won a WS title recently. Now, when was it again that the Losers last won a WS title? Tell us again when it was that the Losers even were IN a WS? Seems to me that the Sox actually won a game in their series. Now, how many did the Losers win? Ah yes, now I remember. Zero, zilch, nada, nil, none.

    Jealousy? LMFAO!

  48. blandest22
    #48

As a Cubs fan, all i can say is that they really suck. But you all knew that already. They had everything going for them this year (except the fact they are the Cubs). If it wasn’t going to happen this year, It will never happen. Every single player on that team is a loser, plain and simple.

On Sunday, i had to make the annual call to my father in which i yell at him for raising me a Cubs fan. I usually call in June. F the Cubs! I hate them.

  49. blandest22
    #49

Why would you think that Cubs fans are pathetic for being so pessimistic before game 2? I have watched that team for years and I know what they do. They lose. They always lose. In fact….. they have never won. Why get excited when we know what the end result will be? Yay, we’re down 10-1! Go team! The crowd should have chanted “F you Cubs!” from the first inning on.

  50. SOX FAN
    #50

I loved that when we lost, the entire stadium, clapped, cheered, and stood up, for ending a great season against a great team, the Rays deserved it. I cheered at my home too. I hope the Rays win it all. We then also will have lost to the WS champs.

Rays in 6 over the Dodgers

  51. soxfanforever
    #51

    To jordan23:

What a lameass attempt to try to get back at us or save face on the part of you and all the other stupid cub fans. At least we won a playoff game, dumbass!-it might not seem like much, but it’s more than what the cubs had this year OR THE LAST 2 YEARS FOR THAT MATTER! Furthermore, the cubs still had more to lose than the Sox did. This was supposed to be “the cubs’ year,” remember? The cubs had an easy time winning their division after St. Louis and the Brewers gave it to them (no offense, Cards and Brew Crew fans). The Sox fought and scrapped their way in, and they still won more playoff games than your flubs LOL!

  52. soxfanforever
    #52

Hey! I make no excuses. Tampa outplayed us. I take my hat off to the Rays. They’ve done a helluva job improving their ballclub. At least we didn’t stop trying. In fact, except for today’s game we had a lead in every game. One thing about the Rays, though, MAN! they have an ugly ass ballpark!

  53. cardsfan
    #53

“Why would you think that Cubs fans are pathetic for being so pessimistic before game 2? The crowd should have chanted “F you Cubs!” from the first inning on.”

The reason is because from Day 1 the sheep have been spewing the unrelenting optimism. “The Scubs were going to win it all. 2008 was THE year they were finally going to do it. This was the best team in baseball, period. There was no way the Scubs could lose.” On and on adnauseum. Then, when the Losers got behind in game one, the boos started.

THAT’S why we think the Scub fans are so pathetic.

If you all feel like “I have watched that team for years and I know what they do. They lose. They always lose. In fact….. they have never won.”, why do you boast and preen and act like pure arrogant assholes for the entire season? Why not throw in the towel in April? Why swagger around in other team’s houses, saying you “own this place”?

Every time the Losers have a decent season we get to hear it from the sheep all season long, and then when they inevitably fail we get to hear you all say how you know they’re never going to do anything.

THAT’S why we think you’re all pathetic…well, one among many reasons anyway.

  54. SOX FAN

The sheep are gone until April. They have 6 months to lick their wounds. Not to worry, they’ll be back with a vengeance. Then it will start all over again, because it’s been well established that sheep can’t learn.

  58. cubswillchoke
    #58

this is true. once they sweep the pirates in a 4 game series they’ll return. i’m anxiously awaiting next year.

  59. blandest22
    #59

So Cubs fans are sheep because they do what fans of all sports teams do? They talk a little trash when their team is doing well. This happens for every single sports team. Cubs fans are no different. Certainly, the Cardinals and White Sox fans were talking trash, and you still are. You talked trash before you won it and even after. So what, that is what fans do.

I wish i wasn’t raised a Cubs fan, but i was. I complain to my father every year about that. I would rather be a Yankees fan, or a Red Sox fan, or most any other team. As a fan, I want them to win. Every fan wants their team to win. When they have a good team and are playing well, i am optimistic. But every single year they kick me in the gut and punish me for my optimism.

I don’t get really pissed off when they lose, its the manner in which they lose that pisses me off. This year they had a good team and should have done better. Every player completely choked, like they always do. I wouldn’t mind losing the series if iy was well played, and they really gave it their all. But, everyone saw what happened and what a bunch of losers they looked like. They could not have beaten any team in the playoffs the way they played. They would have been swept by anyone. That is why I was pissed.

But, like a fan, when Spring Training rolls around, I will get suckered into them again. And next year, I will probably be making that same call to my dad that I make every year.

  60. cardsfan
    #60

“So Cubs fans are sheep because they do what fans of all sports teams do? They talk a little trash when their team is doing well.”

    Umm, no.

Fans of all sports talk a little trash-yes. Sheep guarantee a title for the Losers. Fans HOPE their team makes it to postseason. Sheep guarantee a title for the Losers. Fans get excited when their team does well. Sheep guarantee a title for the Losers. Fans cry a little and get down a little when their team doesn’t win it. Sheep guarantee a title for the Losers NEXT season.

Sheep don’t talk a little trash when their team is doing well. Sheep talk a LOT of trash even when their team is sucking. Arrogant assholes, that’s what sheep are. Sheep are the reason that Baseball Nation hates the Laughable Losers.

  61. blandest22
    #61

There is no reason Cubs fans, like myself, should guarantee anything. They have 100 years of losing to show for all their guarantees.

Any real Cubs fan should know better than to guarantee any success. The Sheep you mention sound like bandwagon fans that know not of what they speak. They have not been beat down by years of Cubs losing like most die hard fans.

Certainly, there are a ton of loud mouth, obnoxious, drunk, no shirt wearing, garbage throwing, just happy to be at the ballpark a-holes at Wrigley. Those are the ones everyone hates, including me. I am just a drunk Cubs fan. I just want them to finally win, just once, and quit being a bunch of losers. Of course, I take full blame for letting myself buy in to the Cubs every year even though I absolutely know better.

  62. cardsfan
    #62

Every once in a while (very rarely) I run into a “real” Scub fan, IE one who doesn’t wear Scubby blue blinders. It appears you are one of those few. Unfortunate thing for you is that you are in a definite minority, and the vast majority of sheep are loud, obnoxious, & arrogant. Also unfortunately for you, Baseball Nation only has the latter on which to base our opinion. We only get to see the jerks simply because there are so many of them. 99% of Scub fans are arrogant assholes. Therefore we assume that ALL Scub fans are arrogant assholes.

I apologize to you, but I will always hate the sheep, and I will always hate the Losers.

  63. soxfanforever

    To blandest22:

You say you were raised a cub fan. You act like it’s some kind of law that you have to be one. No offense, but THAT IS ONE OF THE DUMBEST THINGS I’VE EVER HEARD!
For cripessakes, you can cheer for any team you want to. You’re your own person, aren’t you? You’ve got a brain, USE IT! Find another team to cheer for (a good one like the White Sox comes to mind), and STOP PUNISHING YOURSELF!
