As if 100 years wasn’t enough pressure

So in the midst of this being the 100 year anniversary of the Cubs sucking, documentary filmmaker John Scheinfeld thought it would be a good idea to follow the Cubs for the 2008 season in “hope” that they win the World Series and he has a great movie.  The piece is called “We Believe”.

“It’s not a history of the Cubs,” Scheinfeld said Tuesday. “What we’re doing is a film exploring the love affair between the great city, Chicago, and it’s ball team, the Cubs — what makes Chicago unique, the city, and what makes the people of Chicago unique and why they have supported this team so passionately for so long. We’ll get into the psychology of that, the history of that.

“My challenge as a filmmaker is to find the right balance between Chicago and the Cubs.”

You are going to be following this team for many more years to come if you are waiting for that championship.  Oh it is going to be a fun year indeed!

if the cubs are waiting for a world series they may as well keep waiting the cubs have now purchased won ton willie cant speak a lick of english but wait sweet lou found out a way to communacate he grabs won tons left ball if he want him to take a pitch his right ball to bunt and both balls to swing away lately sweet lou has been carressing bothy of won ton willies balls and going honk honk on ol won tons wienie and smiling

carrie would as closer? the question seems to be, can he go in back to back games? kid d.l. won’t make it past june. then sour lou will burn out carlos marmoset. that would be too bad because with any other team the kid might show his real potential!

Welcome to March 19 08. If there’s any justice, the Cubs should be eliminated from postseason play - again - on August or September 19 08.

Probably he will give up when he realizes the cubs don’t stand a chance after dropping about 50 out of 70 games.

now the thing is, how many people does he think are going to see this shitty movie? seriously? outside of the north side of chicago with the stupid chubs fans, everyone else is going to be like, wtf? why make a shitty movie about the shittiest team in the league?

Love affair? Is he joking? Does he really think that everyone in Chicago supports this team? Most Cubs fans aren’t even baseball fans. They just like to get drunk at Wrigley.
