This was posted at a local forum that we ran across.

Cub fans are at an all-time low right now. Yes, we all know they haven’t won the World Series since 1908, but look at the last three years and how bad it must be for Cub fans:

2004: The only other team who hasn’t won a World Series in about 90 years, the Boston Red Sox, pull it out with a 4 game sweep. This leaves the Cubs as the far and away longest running team without a championship, followed by their cross town rivals, the Chicago White Sox….but not for long.

2005: The Southsiders complete a 4 game sweep of the Astros in the World Series. Now the closest team to the Cubs futility is the Cleveland Indians, who at least won in 1948. And to top things off, the Cubby fans are constantly reminded of the fact that the Sox managed to win as they live and work in the same city.

2006: As if things weren’t going bad enough for Cubby Nation, the Cubs NL rival St. Louis Cardinals make an improbable run through the 2006 playoffs and are now only 2 wins away from their first championship since 1982.

Somebody must really hate the Cub fans. All I know is thank God I’m not one of them!
