Cubs trade Craig Monroe for a player to be named

Cubs Suck News — By webmaster on Thursday, November 15, 2007

It’s kind of old news already.  And it’s actually pretty small news.  But Craig Monroe has been traded by the Cubs, to the Twins, for a player to be named later.  Anyone think that player will be Johan Santana?  Doubtful  :)  So why in the world did the Cubs even acquire Monroe at the end of last year?  Did he really do anything - at all?

Meh, he was supposed to be somewhat useful. While he was hitting around .220, he was batting .300 against lefties, something the Cubs were absolutely absymal at. It was worth sending a worthless 25 or so year old AAA reliever in Clay Rapada.
