The big Z couldn’t quite get it done the game after signing his huge $91.5 million contract. The Cubs lost to the Giants 4-1 despite Zambrano being on the bump. In panic mode - the Cubs rushed out and acquired Craig Monroe from the Detroit Tigers. Monroe is an outfielder who can supposedly hit lefty’s. Thoughts on this acquisation?

Zambrano will be going down hill since signing the contract. I actually had a Cubs fan say to me that they are paying him for what he has done for the team. Did I fall asleep for a long time? Did Zambrano win the World Series for them?

I don’t really see the point of getting a player whose only career highlight is hitting lefties well. I don’t see why the Cubs did it. I can’t see why any other team would do it. That being said, to say that this move was made in the wake of panic induced by a single loss to the Giants is unfounded and ridiculous. In short, it sounds, and is, quite stupid. I think that everyone on this site should learn to talk about baseball in a way that makes them, at the very least, SOUND credible.

and last time i checked both the sox and the cards are under .500, let alone the fact that the sox are in last place, hmmm maybe you guys have no room to talk
