Baseball season’s underway
Well you better get ready for a brand new day
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

They’re singing …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year and the Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field.

We’re singing now …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So stamp your feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans.

You’re singing now …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

LMAO! You actually sat and typed that whole stupid song? I know I know, you copied and pasted it, right? LMAO! What are you, like 10 years old? I know I’ve asked that of several of you, but you all act like it.

“Well this is the year and the Cubs are real.” How many times have we heard THAT? “THIS is next year!” LOL

Sheep are so feeble. You are truly unable to learn. How many times do the Losers have to break your hearts before you wise up? Never mind, I know it’ll never happen. If you all had just a modicum of humility, if you weren’t so damn arrogant, we might not hate you so much. We might even be happy for you. Nah, that’s going too far. You bring the Hatred for the Losers and Scubby fans on yourselves.

Anyways, you can always wear your Central Division Champs shirts next year. Woo hoo!

I think it’s hilarious that Cub’th fans think that their favorite corporation actually gives a shit about them.

About 2007 season… after 99 long years of absolute failure, why did the Tribune just then decide that they wanted to spend more money than God in order to “choke-proof” the team???

And then it made sense… they wanted to SELL THE TEAM. So whether they win or lose, they could care less, Sam Zell is gonna make another billion dollars.

2+2=x

The Cubs are gonna hit today
they’re gonna pitch today
they’re gonna field today
come what may,
the Cubs are gonna win today!

Hey, hey holy mackerel
no doubt about it
The Cubs are on their way

They’ve got the hustle
they’ve got the muscle
the Chicago Cubs are on their way!!!

Actually, if you read my comment again really closely, my argument wasn’t whether or not the CUB$ fans get to the games, it’s whether or not that corporate shepherd of yours gives a crap about YOU.

But yes, Cubsfan25, Wrigley is always packed.

It’s called “free marketing and publicity” to advertise for the team when their owners just happen to be media moguls that own about 25 tv stations and about 15 newspapers all around the nation in mostly large markets. Not to mention their own Superstation where they televise a huge bulk of their games. As a matter of fact, when I lived out west for ten years all you’d see on the Superstation was Cubs games and advertisements to Cubs games for tourists.

On top of that, the more losing seasons your team had, the more they began to advertise the “lovable losers” moniker. Imagine that… losing being cute and lovable. But so much money dumped on advertising for sympathy worked! They’re now one of the top five richest corporations in baseball!!! Money for sympathy!!! Sympathy for money!

So… this isn’t my original argument, but now that you mentioned it, not only did they buy the team, they also bought the fans! Cubs fans are all purchased!

Thanks for bringing that up! You just made a great point!

But don’t let this bring you down, the Tribune is about to purchase you guys a Division Title… so don’t worry about us having fun on here.

St. Louis Cardinals 80 73 .523 12.5
The only number I need to put for the Cubs is ONE! Cards win 2nd meaningless game for them in the past week. Hopefully they will get some good camera shots(after the last out in the top of the ninth) of the players in the Cards dugout, the fans cheering, and Edmonds hugging Zambrano. I can already hear that song playing in the background. (see previous post for the lyrics)

What? No comment about Crazy Carlos’ stellar performance? This is a particularly bad time for him to be faltering, don’t you think? Yeah yeah, I remember the no-no, but as you sheep are fond of stating, the past is irrelevant.

Meaningless game? Of course the game had meaning. Why else was Crazy Carlos on the mound? Why would the ace of the staff be starting in a meaningless game? Why else were the Scub fateful sitting so quietly after inning #1? The looks on their faces was worth the effort of watching the recording after work. Heck, the look on Crazy Carlos’ face was well worth it.

Don’t try to tell us it was a meaningless game. The plan was to have Crazy Carlos win the deciding game. You know, because he’s the ace and all. Too bad no one informed Crazy Carlos about the plan. And don’t try to tell us that he doesn’t care, because he does. His ego is so freakin’ big that he wanted it badly. After all, he is THE man. It would have helped with what he thinks is his CY bid too, which he also wants so badly he can taste it. Too bad he won’t get it.

Yep, the Losers will clinch this weekend, but Crazy Carlos won’t have a hand in it. Gotta love it.

Seats at Wrigley are so expensive they have to skip their starbucks and pilates classes for a month to afford it.

So knowing that the sheep paid that much money to watch Zambrano get raped in the 1st inning… definitely not “meaningless” to us.

Forgot to add, okeydokey, that before you start with the Crazy Carlos was mourning his granny thing, let me say this. If this game was meaningless, even strict disciplinarian old “don’t try to hand me the ball til I waddle my fat ass all the way out to the mound” Lou would have given Crazy Carlos the day off if he was despondent over his granny.

What’s that you say? The game was meaningless for the Cards? Then, are you agreeing it was meaningFUL for the Losers? Are you agreeing that the Cards put a hurtin’ on the Losers in a meaningFUL game for them? Are you agreeing that the lowly Cards bested the Losers’ best pitcher in a meaningFUL game for them?

Anyways okeydokey, it WAS meaningful for the Cards. They spanked Crazy Carlos’ ass and pissed you sheep off profoundly. Very meaningful indeed.

Speaking of Crazy Carlos, still no comment about his stellar performance? One and one third innings-LMAO! I’d sincerely like to see your take (spin) on it.

Carlos was bad. The game had meaning to the Cubs. They could go 0 for the rest of the regular season and still get in the playoffs. Wow, the cards won one friggin game. Too bad they couldnt do it when it counted. Too bad they did NOTHING to address their bullpen issues. They could be in first place if they did. Wait til next year Cardfan.
” Anyways okeydokey, it WAS meaningful for the Cards”
My definition of a meaningful game is it makes a difference in a team getting to the postseason. I guess when your team is in 4th place and out of the race, beating the Cubs is meaningful. You sound like a Bears fan. They could go 2-14, but if the two wins are against the Packers, it was a good season.

Things you will say if the Cubs lose in any round of the playoffs or world series.
1- Told you they would choke
2- scrubs suck, ha ha ha!
3- 101 years
4- Where is that big mouth okeydokey now?
Things you will say if the win the 1st round:
1- They will choke against…

Things you will say if they win the world series:
1- They got lucky because (insert name here) was hurt.
2- The umpires cheated (name of team Cub played)
3- Selig and the umps conspired to let the Cubs win
4- They still suck. Only 1 winner in 100 years.
5- They still suck, probably take another 100 years to win again.

My, can’t you say what you want to say all at one time? Took FOUR tries to get it all in?

You don’t really think that you can make me feel bad about the Cards having two bad seasons in a history of many great ones including a WS title two seasons ago, now do you? You know, as opposed to the Losers who’ve had two good ones (with nothing to show for them yet) in a history of mediocrity? When the Losers win a title (no, I don’t mean winning the division-that’s not a title-sorry) you’ll have a bit of bragging rights. When the Losers win 10 titles, you can…never mind, we won’t live to see that. Actually I have sincere doubts that we’ll live to see the first one.

Let me ’splain something to you Lucy. The Losers have done nothing yet. They have yet to prove themselves, as they haven’t done anything in 100 years. The Cards have nothing to prove. They’ve won 10 titles, second only to the Yankees. The Cardinals organization is a dynasty. The Losers are wannabees. The envy that you and all your sheep friends have for the Cards and Cards fans is pitiable. Sheep hate the Cards because the Cards are everything the Losers and their sheep fans wish they were.

But will never be.

It must be wonderful living in Scubby Fantasyland. Just make sure the blinders are in place, strap on the little blue BELIEVE wrist thingy, and wave one’s very own W flag.

In the meantime, if any team is capable of blowing this thing, it’s the Losers. We’ll be watching, well…sort of. I’ll be keeping track of the scores anyway.

Well you did see a lot of blowing by the cards this year. (30 times)

I’m enjoying this right now. You haters dread the fact the Cubs have a chance to win a world series. They have more of a chance of “blowing” it than the Cards, which is fine with me. The Cards have NO chance of blowing it. Oh, I’m sorry, they haven’t been mathematically eliminated yet.

Clinched home field, 2nd best record in majors, best nl home record, above .500 on the road. Yeah, I’m convinced. Only black mark is their mediocre, 9-6 record against the Cards. Maybe if they win out, they can get the wild card. Then they can beat, most likely Philly, then beat the Cubs. Wow, the Cards could go to the world series still! I’m convinced that’s not going to happen. How about you?

I also find it funny how you seem to be far more obsessed with the Cubs than Cub fans themselves. Keep up the hate! Us Cub fans like it! It simply shows that we are getting attention :)

And rest assured if and when we finally win the WS, it will be the biggest party in the world. Will they win it all this year? Maybe, maybe not. But just the idea that they might must be killing you inside and that alone brings me great joy.

The Sox would be a shoo-in for the playoffs if they were in the NL Central this year too. Seriously? How bad a losing streak did the chubs go on this year? Like 12? With a only a 4 game lead??? And the Brew-crew STILL didn’t move up in the division? Not more than what, 2 games????????

talk about pathetic

cmon Cards and Brewers, 2009, you two duke it out, and let the Stros and Reds fight for 3rd, and then watch as the chubs fall to the bottom next year,

also, anyone else see they want to shut down the bars around wrigley the same time they stop serving booze at the game? hahahahaa, lets see how their “big” fanbase does without any booze after those games

finally:
to all those who already say my Sox arent gonna make the playoffs, oh well, its not our year, maybe next year, maybe not, but when I wear my Cubs Still Suck shirt in November, and everyone goes “oh yeah, what did the Sox do this year?” ill respond “what did the chubs do? getting swept by a crappy team in the first round of the playoffs is hardly anything to brag about!”

“Let me ’splain something to you Lucy. The Losers have done nothing yet. They have yet to prove themselves, as they haven’t done anything in 100 years.”

how true, seriously, when will the chubs fans stop bragging about winning a division? big whoop, the Buffalo Bills went to 4 Super Bowls in a row, but they never did anything to truly prove themselves, but they still at least made it to the big game, the chubs, psssh, they havent been the ws since 1946 (? i think) so any chubs fans posting here have never ever in no way seen them a ws, let alone ever even seen them go to one, and they should settle down and try to see, a lot of teams go to the playoffs and win divisions, look at the braves, they won what, 15 in a row or something? who cares about winning the division or going to the playoffs? it doesnt prove anything

and to Cardfan, I was lucky enough to see the Cards play this year!, sadly they lost, to Detroit (I was on vacation in Dearborn, MI) but it was still a good game, 2 HRs int he first Inning (including the first pitch of the game) by the Cards, then there was a 2 hour rain delay, so I went from nosebleeds to behind the dugout and got to see the players upclose, it was AWESOME!! but sadly they lost…..

You sound like that friggin cry baby Hank Steinbrenner.
“to all those who already say my Sox arent gonna make the playoffs, oh well, its not our year, maybe next year, maybe not” Way to support your 1st place team. You sound defeated! Pretend like you don’t care. B.S.
It would be really funny if the Sox have to play (and win) that game vs. the Tigers. Detroit has packed it in and probably won’t put up much of a challenge. If the Sox lose,I can already hear Hawk. “The umps made a bad call, MLB screwed us, it was too cold, Detroit got lucky ducksnorts that went over the wall 6 times, Tiger pitchers got lucky and missed hitting our bats, etc, etc” Yeah, I know, you really don’t care. Right.

last night was a terrible call, it may have costed us the game, but we also shouldve had more offense, cant blame the umps for everything, and like I care if we have to play the Tigers game, if we do, we do, I really dont care

Comment by SOX FAN

September 25, 2008 @ 8:57 am

and also Okifuck, real fans can admit when their teams arent playing their best, if we cant win a series against the Twins, we dont deserve the playoffs, since the break it hasnt really felt like this was our year, its TB’s year, maybe next year we can get back, get our bullpen back in order, keep some players healthy, and play smarter ball, Cards vs Sox 09 WS? maybe, but as a huge Sox fan it does hurt me to see my team play so poorly and have an alright year and not make the playoffs, cuz our division crumpled this year too, but the twins always find a way to kick some asses, but we put up a fight, lost, and we’ll get over it, not blame it on a curse or a fan or something

Comment by oki290

“maybe next year we can get back”
Did the Sox forfeit the rest of the season?

Comment by SOX FAN

September 25, 2008 @ 11:52 am

what blow? stop pretending like every team has sheep for fans like your flubs, other teams have fans that can accept their team isnt good, this year, we werent very good, at the beginning, yeah, we were awesome, but since the all-star break our bullpen fell apart, our offense has struggled, we didnt play good ball

we all know the chubs fans can be well below 500 at times with 2 weeks to go in the season and start rambling about some stupid curse or being so pigheaded that you still think your team is good, no matter how bad your playing

we didnt forfeit, but were playing the Twins in MN, we are 1-7 there this season, hell, most teams cannot win there, were gonna lose the lead if we cant win tonight, we wont make the playoffs then, we can mathematically, but its very unlikely, it hurts bad, but, as ive said many times now, since july, this isnt our year, maybe we can do it next year, maybe not, at least ive seen my team win a world series in my lifetime
